In this restaurant, ceramic tile is one of the dominant factors in creating both an instant sense of familiarity and continuity for a "chain" entity.
The dining and bar areas consist of 2,000 SF of 1 x 1" keystone "trademark" pattern (a pattern ubiquitous in everything from menus to napkins), with floors accented by 500 SF of black 6" border.
This flooring is carried throughout the restaurant into the restrooms, which are completely tiled. Walls featuring 1,000 SF of 4-1/4" sq. fawn colored tile are accented by an alternating scored band of black and evergreen tiles.
In the vestibule and kitchen areas you will find 3,000 SF of 6 x 6" smooth and suretread quarry tile floor and base.
All of the bathroom floor tile and the quarry tile were mud set with waterproofing, all of the quarry tile base was caulked at the top. Grouts are black for the floor, and white on the walls.
The hard tile walls and floors are both utilitarian and beautiful.
The customer.
And he can fire everyone in the company,
from the chairman on down,
simply by
spending his money somewhere else.
