Here at Artisan Tile & Marble Company, it is our objective to set ourselves apart from our competition by providing our customers with superior service and craftsmanship, maintaining a professional atmosphere, and consistently exceeding the expectations of others through a partnership with our suppliers and general contractors.
Every member of Artisan Tile and Marble Company strives to maintain our status as a recognized leader in the tile industry using integrity, innovations and honesty, as a true Artisan should.
Artisan Tile & Marble Co. of NJ Inc. was originally incorporated in 1964 in the home of its founder, Arnold M. Hess, in Highland Park, New Jersey. The selection of the company’s name, which means true craftsman, was made to reflect the company’s commitment to outstanding quality, value and dedication to professionalism.
In the 55+ years that followed, ATM has lived up to its name, offering outstanding and award-winning installations by working in harmony with its General Contractors and Suppliers. ATM has installed over 50 million square feet of tile in nearly 15,000 projects and has worked for over 1500 GCs.
Always on the cutting edge of technology, Artisan has grown to become one of the largest union commercial tile and stone contractors in New Jersey. It is now the recognized leader throughout the industry.
Today, Artisan offers nearly 350 cumulative years of tile experience from its highly-skilled office staff, and uses that experience in a customer-oriented firm. Based on flexibility and knowledge, they are committed to professionalism, attention to detail, and...to being the best.
Artisan Tile & Marble Company is proud to have included two national association industry presidents as members of its staff - John J. Sekora, Past President of the Tile Contractors’ Association of America and Paul Vigna, past President of the Marble Institute of America. Artisan Tile & Marble is the only firm to boast of having had two presidents of two national trade organizations in both tile and marble on staff.
Artisan Tile and Marble Company and John J. Sekora were the first tile contractors to be officially certified by the International Masonry Institute’s (IMI) Contractor College in 2003.
In both 1999 and 2000, the Artisan Tile & Marble Company and the Sekora family (et al) were selected as finalists in the New Jersey Monthly’s Family Business of the Year Award. Articles appeared both in the November 1999 and November 2000 issues of that magazine. A copy of the magazine article reprint can be seen on the Kudos section of our website.
Sometimes we forget that work is just a means to an end. A game we play hard to win, but nevertheless a game.
Kahlil Gibrain wrote in The Prophet, "Work is love made visible." It’s never been more visible, nor more enjoyable, than in the faces of my family...
It does not yet appear, what we shall be...Treasure the possibilities.
The customer.
And he can fire everyone in the company,
from the chairman on down,
simply by
spending his money somewhere else.
